No you don’t. You can join as a Day Member for our introductory or intermediate rides. Distances of 5km to 60km.
Becoming a member is easy. Our memberships are managed online by the national body of Endurance (AERA) Australian Endurance Riders Association. To enter you will need to create an account to log in.
There are several levels of membership depending on your level of experience, your ambitions and your age.
For riders older than 18 years, entitles you to enter any distance event (novice requirements must be met for rides longer than 80KM) Entitles you to vote in our AGM
For riders younger than 18 years, entitles you to enter any distance event (novice requirements must be met for rides longer than 80KM) Unable to vote in our AGM
The perfect membership for riders of any age who want to enjoy the sport of endurance at lower distances. Allows you to ride in Introductory and Intermediate events. Unable to vote in our AGM
Do you want to be a member but don’t ride? No worries this membership level is for you. Perfect for volunteers, trainers or owners of horses. Day membership must be purchased to ride in an event. Not eligible to vote in our AGM
Want to join the entire family this is the membership for you. Includes two adults and any dependent children under 18 years who live at the same address to enjoy endurance.
Available for riders who want to ride in an event without joining SAERA. Entitles you to ride in one event for one day. Eligible event distances for day membership are introductory and intermediate rides.

You may have a friend who has a horse you can ride. Trainers and or owners will often own horses and have riders who compete their horses for them.
Can I come along to a ride to watch?
Yes of course we welcome you with open arms. Here is a tip, volunteering at our rides is an excellent way to learn. Pick up tips and meet the upcoming and experienced endurance riders. There are plenty of roles available that will see you in the thick of the action. The best part is we treat our volunteers like Kings πand Queens π.

Membership fees for 2024
Want to join us. You can join us for as little as $85 if you aren’t riding or $120 if you are. We cater for all ages and you can purchase Personal Accident Insurance (managed by Surewise) to cover you this year. We recognise our members who volunteer throughout the year with a volunteers discount. β€οΈ
Adult Riding member- $195 (full competition membership)
Junior Riding member- $120 (start early)
Intermediate Riding member- $120. (Just starting out in endurance riding this is for you)
Family- $480 (A membership for the entire family humans and horses)
Non-riding member- $85 (just supporting still want to be part of the fam)
Personal Accident Insurance– $165. download form (better to be safe than sorry)
Junior Personal Accident Insurance– $50
Significant Volunteers Discount- $50. (worthwhile discount recognising the backbone of our sport)
Early-bird discount- $25 off the cost of any membership (valid until 10thΒ Feb 2024)

Online Membership Renewals – A message from AERA
From 1 January 2024 members will be able to renew their memberships digitally, update their contact and address details and manage their FEI/EA membership information, all from the comfort of their lounge or office chair.
Personal Accident Insurance can also be taken out as part of the membership renewal however this will still require the completion of the Personal Accident Insurance form. Please send your form to the State/Membership Registrar via email registrar@saera.asn.au
