Pine Hut Ride #2 π²π
April 20 – April 21
Pine Hut Creek and Pine Hut Plain are historic names for areas to the south of the township in the locality of Sedan. The creek flows from the eastern side of the Mount Lofty Ranges to the Murray River. The nearby town of Sedan was settled in the 1850βs by Lutherans seeking religious freedom outside Europe. Sedan is 99 kilometres from Adelaide and crossroads to everywhere. The dry stone walls that cris-cross the landscape were built by local farmers and later even the local council. Abundant rock made sourcing material easy and the skill of the builders means they are still here today for us to see. The most spectacular views of the walls can be found along the Keyneton/Sedan Road and they are now recognised on the State Heritage Register.
You will get a chance to admire the spectacular scenery as you ride the trails carefully curated by your Ride Organiser – Kim Calway.
